HED Jet 4 Black
$1,599.99 $2,000.00 20% Savings
What happens when you combine the world’s fastest clincher wheels with unbelievable wet and dry braking? What if you add a murdered-out all-black appearance that would make Batman jealous? In a few words: Jet Black - the carbon clincher killer Starting from our revolutionary 25mm-wide Jet Plus aluminum rim, we spent hundreds of hours testing and refining a new braking surface, called Turbine Braking Technology. With special machining and anodizing, the result a super clean all-black appearance and outstanding brake performance. How great is it? How about 25% shorter stopping distances in dry conditions, or 70% shorter stopping distances in wet conditions. Additionally, the consistency of stopping distances has improved by nearly a factor of five. That’s not a typo. Our all-black alloy rim and carbon cap give you all of the cool factor, and none of the safety compromises of carbon clinchers. No melted rims. No tire and tube failures. Only True Speed. The Jet 4 Black is similar to the Jet 4 Plus in that it is an all-around great choice for road racing, or anyone looking to thread the needle of light weight and aerodynamic performance. With a 46mm depth (and massive 25mm width), this rim results in lower side force than its deeper cousins, with aerodynamic performance that would make competitors’ 80mm rims jealous. This wheel is available in either a standard build with 18 front spokes and 24 rear spokes, or a Stallion build with 20 front spokes and 28 rear spokes. The Stallion build is stiffer, and ideal for strong riders or those around 200 lbs and above. Tech notes: 1. For all types of bicycle wheels, a hard strike on the rim is likely to result in rim damage. At the point of impact, an aluminum rim will dent, and a carbon rim may delaminate. With any such damage to a Hed wheel, our lifetime crash replacement policy enables the original owner to repair or replace the wheel at substantial savings. 2. Tire pressure = 90psi MAX 3. We do NOT recommend hanging a bike equipped with Jet wheels from hooks - this can damage the carbon skin and will not be covered under warranty. 4. You MUST use brand new brake pads when switching to Ardennes and Jet Black wheels. Old pads may contain metal flakes that can damage the rim finish.
Mavic Cosmic Carbone SLE Wheel/Tire Set
$1,799.90 $1,999.90 10% Savings
When the pace inches up, the road gets twistier and the peloton stretches into a long, thin line, you'll be glad Mavic's Cosmic Carbone SLEs are underneath you. They combine the quickness and aerodynamics of deep-dish carbon fairings with the convenience and unparalleled braking power of Mavic's Exalith-enhanced aluminum clincher rims for world-class speed and precision handling. If that wasn't enough, you also get the MPH-boosting benefits of aero bladed spokes and Mavic's impressively slippery QRM+ hubs. And, wrapped around these mighty wheels are Mavic's Yksion Pro tires that combine a quick-rolling center tread with grippy shoulders to reduce rolling resistance and boost cornering traction.
Mavic Cosmic CXR 60 Wheel/Tire Set (Tubular)
$2,249.99 $2,750.00 18% Savings
After extensive wind-tunnel testing, Mavic delivers the Cosmic CXR 60, the choice of numerous WorldTour squads and fast riders everywhere. The 60mm-deep carbon rim uses bladed steel spokes and their own Yksion tire to achieve one of the most aero wheels in the peloton. The magic of Mavic's CXR 60 is it's nearly seamless transition between tire and brake track thanks to a special aerodynamic fairing. Those tires are 290-TPI polycotton tubulars for sublime ride quality with serious durability. They use a fast-rolling, long-wearing center tread with softer rubber on the sides for excellent cornering grip. The wheels are silky smooth and stiff, too, thanks to the near-frictionless QRM+ hubs, a solid hub/fork interface, and a quick-engaging FTS-L freebody. And of course, Mavic never sacrifices ride quality or weight for aerodynamics, so the CXR 60s accelerate like a shot and climb better than most standard wheels out there.
