After extensive wind-tunnel testing, Mavic delivers the Cosmic CXR 60, the choice of numerous WorldTour squads and fast riders everywhere. The 60mm-deep carbon rim uses bladed steel spokes and their own CXR Ultimate tires to achieve one of the most aero wheels in the peloton. An important part of the Mavic CXR 60's magic is its nearly seamless transition between tire and brake track thanks to a special aerodynamic fairing. That tire is a 290-TPI polycotton tubular for sublime ride quality with serious durability. It uses a fast-rolling, long-wearing center tread with softer rubber on the sides for excellent cornering grip. The wheel is silky-smooth and stiff, too, thanks to the near-frictionless QRM+ hub and a solid hub/fork interface. And of course, Mavic never sacrifices ride quality or weight to achieve such impressive aerodynamics, so the CXR Ultimate 60 accelerates like a shot and climbs like a mountain goat.
Faster in every way:
Mavic CX01 technology delivers an integrated wheel-tire system that smooths air flow around the tire and wheel, improving laminar airflow at every yaw angle. It enables Cosmic CXR wheels to deliver the lowest aerodynamic drag ever measured on a road wheel-tire system.
High braking performance:
The Mavic exclusive Exalith 2 technology for aluminum rims has been refined to provide a very high level of durability and braking performance in all weather conditions.
Inter Spoke Milling:
An exclusive Mavic-patented concept, ISM involves the machining of the lower bridge of the rim between each spoke hole to create a light and rigid rim without reducing durability.
Grip and control:
A front tire, whether a clincher or a tubular, must enhance the front wheel’s ability to grip the road and control the bike. Therefore, GripLink tires are optimized for front use, by offering superior cornering grip and extra puncture protection.
Low rolling resistance:
A rear tire, whether a clincher or a tubular, must enhance the wheel’s ability to transfer power and generate speed. Therefore, PowerLink tires are optimized for rear wheel use, by minimizing rolling resistance.
Force Transfer System Light:
Reinforcement of a key transmission component: the contact area between the pawl and the hub body is reinforced by two stainless steel inserts, which allows the use of a 100% aluminum hub body.
